Throwing Kindness, Growing in Love: Showing God’s Heart on the Disc Golf Course
Share
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16
Disc golf gives us a unique space—not just to play, but to connect. It’s often on the course that stories come out, struggles are shared, and silent battles are noticed. Some players show up with more than discs in their bags—they carry hurt, isolation, and a deep need to simply feel seen.
1 John 4:16 doesn’t just remind us that God loves us, it calls us to live in love. When we choose to pause for someone having a rough round, invite a new face into our circle, or speak kindness to someone who seems distant—we’re doing more than being “nice.” We’re putting God’s love into motion.
And the truth is, we don’t always know what someone is walking through. But we can be intentional about making the disc golf course a place where no one walks alone—where love doesn’t just stay in our hearts but becomes visible through our presence.

What are practical ways we can make our disc golf community feel more like family?
TAG Challenge: Intentionally notice someone who may be struggling, and invite them to join you—whether it’s for a round, a meal, or just a conversation. Let your presence speak of God’s love louder than words ever could.
